A style of ruff composed of four thick locks of fur that blaze out in a perculiar, yet impressive display. Though widely accepted, no one really knows how the fur stays in place without styling.

Trait:  
  • 4 pieces of dense fur that expands out in a X formation of any kind.
  • Fur may be straight, wavy, or lightly curled.
  • Small pieces of fur may extend from the main four.
  • Fur should not cover the back of the neck.
Gallant Ruff

Gallant Ruff (★ Uncommon)

Species: Pawbird

A luxurious style of Ruff that exudes elegance. A mane of beautiful fur cascades down the throat in a pleasing ripple of often wavy fur. This style is popular amongst the more social crowds.

Trait:  
  • The ruff grows longest towards the front of the neck while the back is naturally shorter.
  • The top half of the neck is usually bare.
  • Fur may be straight, wavy, or lightly curled.
  • Fur may not grow longer than the hips for this style.

Faux Coat Ruff

Faux Coat Ruff (★ Uncommon)

Species: Pawbird

A style of ruff that gives the pawbird a commanding presence, with fur that lies heavily against the shoulders. This ruff was popularized by the more fashion-forward of the species, often matching their clothing to accentuate their lucious fur.

Trait:  
  • Fur grows densely along the shoulders and around the back of the neck, giving the illusion of a fur coat's lapels or hood trim.
  • The fur may grow longer in the back down towards their mid-back as well as down the front to their waist.
  • The throat should be kept bare.
  • Fur may be straight, wavy, or lightly curled.
  • Fur may not grow long along the shoulders past the example shown.
  • Fur may not be depicted as hair-like in texture. 

Pelt Ruff

Pelt Ruff (★ Uncommon)

Category: Ruff
Species: Pawbird

A style of ruff that is composed of thick and chunky fur that extends out into jagged, messy points. This ruff gives a wilder, more intimidating appearance to the Pawb.

Trait:  
  • Fur is usually messy and choppy, and can be a bit smaller or larger than pictured.
  • The top portion of the throat is usually exposed, but may optionally also be covered in fur.
  • Fur may be straight, wavy, or lightly curled
